James Ange was born in 1959 in Rochester New York. He and his family came to California in 1969 and lived in Reseda California. His father was a painter and wallpaper hanger and his mother was a supervisor for Auto Logic. James loved and played sports as he grew up. His family was poor and moved quite frequently. When James became fourteen they settled down in Chatsworth where he attended High School there as well. He played football and had plans to go to college and play. His guidance from others and his understanding of the needs for proper classes to play football at a division one school were left behind. James would not accept anything but division one schools, so he ran off and got married to Lori Ange, a high school sweetheart, at the age of 18. James and Lori were always there for each other when they were in school growing up. James and Lori are still married, 27 years later and have three boys. The boys are: James Ange Jr., 26 years old, and has an engineering degree. He now works as a design engineer. He is married to Angela Cordiero who is a school teacher. Both Angela and James Jr. were high school sweethearts. Scott M. Ange, 24 years old, Scott became a Title rep and he is a real estate agent. Scott just bought his first house and seems to follow his dad’s drive. Kevin J. Ange, 23 years old, Kevin is an officer of Liberty investments Inc. Kevin has worked with most trades as James Sr. has insisted. Now Kevin assists his father in supervising projects. Kevin has the desire that it takes to continue the business and improve on it.

James Ange became a painter after getting married in 1977. His drive to be good at his profession made him a very good painter and very good at staining cabinets. His desire to get ahead made him get a painting contractor’s license in 1983 and start a painting company. James had brought his brother to work with him in 1985 because he had built up his business very quickly. By late 1986 he had already employed up to 80 painters that worked for his company. James had become one of the larger painting companies in his area. By 1987 James decided to start building his own house. His knowledge in construction took him through the process very easy. A friend of his asked him after seeing the house James did for himself, to become a partner with him on a side business building spec. homes. They set out to build six homes in the Santa Rosa Road area in 1988. James had got his general Contractors license B-1 in 1989. James started his own business building for homeowners as he still had the painting company going as well.

The business of building homes for homeowners was growing fast and James was including a spec home in his portfolio from time to time. As time passed, James started small LLC’s with different individuals on different properties. That was very good for the individuals and James. In 1998 James was so busy he had shut the painting company down and only built homes. James has built about 100 custom homes so far and they have developed in the following cities: Camarillo, North Ranch, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Hidden Hills, Agoura, Lake Sherwood, Somis, Ventura, Northridge, Studio City, West Hills, Bell Canyon, Malibu and Newbury Park. James has built approximately 20 spec homes in his portfolio. Lori Ange had gotten her decorator’s license and works with James and Kevin as a team to make the perfect home for people to enjoy. James says that with Lori’s help, the clients feel like they can go about their lives as Liberty Investments has everything under control. The home owners he builds for seem to often become an investor. James and Lori’s goal is to see Kevin become the largest most respected custom home builder in California.
